Can we get 45 teams to celebrate 45 years?
Pat Dubois of the BULL 92.9 fm is the Title Sponsor of the Cosmo BULL-a-thon and Hunter’s Eastview Bowl (2929 Louise St.) is the host facility.
In its short history, this unique event has raised funds to install audio-visual equipment within the Jim Vipond Auditorium at Cosmo in order to create a movie theatre for adults with intellectual disabilities, acquired disability adapted fitness equipment for a physical exercise room.
HOW IT WORKS (Bowl at 5 pm, 7 pm or 9 pm with a choice of 5 pin or 10 pin)
Hold a staff party with the proceeds donated to Cosmopolitan Industries or get family and friends together to form teams in this unique fundraiser. For those you wish, Cosmo will provide a participant to bowl as the ‘Cosmo Captain’ of your team. This can be a participant who will bowl with the team or a participant who is unable to bowl but will be an 'honourary' captain. Teams call Ken at 306-260-7093 to recruit a 'Cosmo Captain'. The top team based on funds raised, wins an iPad as the prize for their Cosmo Captain. The top fundraiser from the community will win an iPad as well. There are multiple prizes given away during bowling. During each bowling shift, bowlers are provided with Pizza and pop as a thank you for your efforts in support of Cosmo.
Getting pledges for your team is easy through the online ‘Friends Asking Friends’ web site and mobile app. Get your teams ready.

Each and every year, the members of the Riverside Country Club and its board of directors very generously donate the use of their superb facility and perfectly manicured grounds for this well known and loved charity tournament, now proudly called the Riverside Vipond Golf Classic. It is one of 6 Vipond events held across western Canada.
The tournament has proven to be one of the most prestigious mens golfing events in Saskatchewan, very popular with the 240-plus golfers who enrol in the match each year. While being an exclusive club open only to members and their guests, Riverside Country Club, on “Vipond Day”, establishes a direct connection to the community-at-large and allows many non-member golfers to enjoy the fine amenities that the Club offers.
In the late 1970's, Jim Vipond, a well known southern Ontario sports writer, organized the first VIPOND Golf Classic. This was a charitable tournament in support of community services for adults with mental and multiple disabilities. Since that time VIPOND tournaments have been established across Canada.
Proceeds from the Riverside Vipond Golf Classic support community services provided by agencies including Cosmopolitan Industries, the Community Living Association Saskatoon, Ability in Me, Special Olympics and Elmwood Residences.
These organizations strive to enhance the quality of life for people with intellectual and/or multiple disabilities. Their residential, recreational, social and vocational services are provided in a manner that promotes dignity and inclusion in our community.
More than $1 Million has been raised to fund the many capital and non-capital projects undertaken by the above agencies for the benefit of those individuals in our community who require support in their daily lives.
